Halo: The Movie
-Taken from RT.com's current Halo Movie topic- Halo Movie Facts-These are things we know for sure. - Alex Garland (28 days later) wrote the screenplay. (He is not Directing) - Peter Jackson is the Executive Producer (He is not the director) - WETA is doing the Special Effects. - The Movie is scheduled for a 2007 release. (No exact date has been announced) - Universal Studios and 20th Century Fox are working togather on it. - Guillermo del Toro was once considered for director but has stated he wants to do Hellboy 2 instead. Rumored- These are pure rumors not facts and may subject to change - The Movie may be based on the book Fall of Reach (Gameinformer Magazine) - The movie may be scheduled for a 2008 release (IMDB) Note: This will be post around the top of a new page. - If anyone comes in and posts Peter Jackson is the director or "I heard he was whatever", you should turn tail and leave. -There is no reason why you should say you did not know or I did not feel like looking back two pages or so since its around the top of the page. -EDIT by JC: The segment above refers to people not checking previous pages of the other thread. Instead of that segment, I simply ask that, if you've come from RT.com, read up on the thread there before trying to make a statement that you think is "New" information -IMDb IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM CONSTITUTES AN ANNOUNCEMENT OF ANY KIND! Just because they say something means diddly-squat! -Please do not mention anyone like Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Willis, Vin Diesel, etc. unless there is some reliable source that says someone (either them or the studio) is interested in the movie. -Ridley Scott is not involved as of yet. -Please use reliable sources for getting information. What is a reliable source? A reliable source is someone directly involved with production. If Bungie, Fox, Universal, Peter Jackson, WETA, says something about the movie you can be reasonably sure it's true. A site that uses direct quotes (such as www.comingsoon.net) can be reliable since they are directly quoting the source. Some site called www.iwetmyselfplayinghalo.com is not a reliable source. It may be a good site for fans to go and get together but any information that comes from there is highly questionable. -If you reply to a post on the first page you will be -1 noobed. There's no excuse for it. -If you choose to ignore any of this we will (or should) ignore you too. - The fan made poster of the grey chief is just that. Fan made. Not official. -We have looked at the supposed "leaked script" at Latino Review. We believe it's fake. If you think it's real we would almost pity you. -IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING NEGATIVE TO SAY PLEASE DO NOT SAY IT! You should not be negative yet. There's not enough information to be negative. If you think it's going to be another standard video game movie or another big budget stinker do not post. Most people here are positive about it so far. You being negative helps no one. General Thread Consensus: These are things we the fans want, have already argued them, and don't want to go over again. You missed it. Too bad. Stop asking. -We DO NOT want to see Master Chiefs face. -Many of us have read the books and do enjoy them. However we recognize that they may not be made into movies. -We don't really think Samuel L. Jackson will be a good Sarge. -We would prefer small time actors who are good for the part instead of big name actors that get in on their name alone. -We want a stuntman to do the physical part of Master Chief and have Steve Downes continue to do the voice (a la Darth Vader). The same can be done for Cortana. -We don't want to see Vin Diesel, The Rock, or Russel Crowe as Master Chief. Credit to ARTaylor and scubaSTEVE72.
